Are Square Tiles Coming Back in Style?
Square tiles will remain a solid choice for the home! Thanks to their classic and simple shape, square tiles offer a timeless tile solution. These tiles are available in a wide range of options in terms of colour, design and materials. From luxurious pattern tiles, opulent stone tiles, rustic terracotta tiles and plenty more, square tiles will always be on trend with an option available to suit any style of design.
What are Standard Sizes of Square Tiles?
Standard sizes of square tiles include 200 x 200mm, 300 x 300mm and 600 x 600mm. Tile sizes can vary from these standard dimensions depending on the specific tile type selected however, these sizes continue to be the most widely used square tiles.
Do Square Tiles Make a Room Look Bigger?
Large format square tiles can make a room appear larger than what it is. 600 x 600mm sized square tiles are a popular choice for this type of application as these large format tiles will minimise the appearance of grout lines, creating a near seamless look. This effect is further enhanced by your grout colour selection; if you are looking to create the illusion of added space in a room, select a grout colour that will complement your tile’s colour rather than contrasting it which in turn, will further reduce the appearance of grout lines and create the look of a larger room.
What Size Tile is Easiest to Install?
Square tiles and rectangular tiles are often the easiest tiles to lay. It is important to note however that tiles exceeding a 600 x 600mm size will require an experienced hand to lay due to their oversized nature. These tiles will require more preparation work to be performed during the laying process and as such, may fetch a higher price tag in terms of labour costs.
