Cement Tiles

The stand out style that took the tile world by storm in 2014 was the resurgence of cement tiles.  Popular throughout the 1870’s these decorative handmade beauties today create a modern look adorning bathroom floors, kitchen splash-backs, living areas and feature walls.

Natural stone inspired porcelain 

Porcelain tile that perfectly simulate natural stones were on the rise once more.  The technology and aesthetic characteristics became so advanced in 2014  it was difficult to tell the difference between porcelain and the real thing. Popular choices included Carrara marble, quartzite, slate, travertine, polished concrete and bluestone looks.

Hexagon Tiles

The hexagon trend continued to flourish in 2014 with the pattern showing up in an abundance of various colours, materials and textures. This very stylish and contemporary format oozes a sense of luxury and sophistication.

3D and Geometrics

Tiles in all shapes, sizes and and formats were developed in 2014. It seemed like it was a case of move over square, geometric has arrived! New shapes were introduced to the market that not only offered a highly individual look but were also irresistibly tactile.

Graphics & Patterns

Patterns ranging from florals, elaborate graphics and textile inspired designs were a big hit in 2014 and it’s easy to see why.  Effective use of patterned tiles can create a spectacular design statement.

Timber Tiles

Although timber tiles have been around for some time now, 2014 was undoubtedly their biggest year. New and innovative textures were introduced including distressed looks, decorative patterns and unexpected colours.
